Event Details

Wild Workspaces is a co-working pop-up event in and alongside Nature, bringing a whole new experience to your working day. A new perspective, a chance to work more innovatively, a little low-tech, and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the wild of the woods in North Yorkshire.

Wild Workspaces was created off the back of Covid, the increase in remote working, isolation and loneliness, and the ease with which a whole day at the computer could suck time away in a second — making it easy to forget your basic needs.

Wild Workspaces helps you connect to a community, with time for networking with other businesses, leaders and team members, followed by time to co-work from various locations across this wild site. Choose from a space in one of the communal buildings, or go and sit by the pond to do your marketing. Walk down to the woods and edit a report beneath the trees, or write a blog cosied up in The Burrow (a tent in the woods).

What actually happens?
The day begins at 09:30am, when the kettle goes on and free refreshments are waiting. Your host JK — founder of Where the Mind Grows Coaching — will welcome you, share an introduction and orientation to the site, before informal networking kicks off from 10:15am until noon, with optional prompts to help get the conversation started.
Bring your own lunch and take some time to relax and chat together, before an afternoon of focused, lower-tech working for the rest of the day. You’re welcome to stay for the full day (until 16:15pm) or leave whenever you’re ready.

The Benefits
People who have attended over the last few years have shared what a difference time in Nature made to their working day; some finding focus and energy from the new view, others leaning into the importance of time around the fire or amongst the trees and birdsong, tending to quiet well-being reflection and making space for new ideas in business. Connecting with Nature brings a boost of benefits for mental health, well-being, creativity and focus.

What can you work on?

Past attendees have found an array of opportunities at Wild Workspaces, including journaling and strategic visioning, content creation, proofreading and editing, report writing, phone calls, reading and research, book writing, emails (via phone hotspot), and team planning, among much more.
