I am a registered and accredited Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. I use a gentle, modern approach that blends talking therapy, neuroscience, and relaxing hypnosis to help you to feel better and make positive changes in your life.
My approach includes three key elements:
• Solution Focused Therapy – a positive style of talking therapy that focuses on where you want to be, rather than analysing the past.
• Neuroscience Education – I explain how the brain works so you can understand why you feel the way you do, and how we can encourage the mind to work for you, not against you.
• Hypnotherapy – a completely natural and safe state of focused attention. I like to call this part of the session your relaxation, because that is simply what it is! There’s no mind control or swinging watches I promise!
It simply starts with a guided muscle relaxation so your body can settle down and relax and your mind can then follow.
As your mind enters that relaxed state we are then able to give some positive suggestions to the subconscious part of us! It’s a deeply calming experience that you will find soothing, peaceful, and uplifting. It’s often my clients’ favourite part of the session, it’s a chance for you to give your mind a much-needed break from all the noise.
This combined approach is highly effective for a wide range of issues, including generalised anxiety, health and social anxiety, teenage anxiety, stress and burnout, low confidence and self esteem, low mood, self-doubt, sleep problems, fears and phobias, OCD, IBS and unwanted habits.
This therapeutic approach is wonderful to support any kind of positive changes you would like to see and make in your life. I am deeply passionate about empowering others to gently move forward in this way so they can feel happier, calmer, more confident, and back in control of their life.
Becoming a therapist felt like my calling. I struggled with anxiety from a young age, through my teens and into my twenties, and I know first hand how overwhelming it can feel when you’re not quite sure why you are feeling this way and struggling to know what will help.
When I experienced Solution Focused Hypnotherapy myself, everything changed. The sessions brought me a level of understanding and relief, and I had a real “lightbulb moment”.
I could finally align my values with my purpose and retrain to help others who struggle. And it’s the best thing I have ever done!
I’ve always been drawn to helping people and have a naturally warm, empathic nature. Sessions with me are often light and sprinkled with laughter as I want you to know that anything is possible and healing doesn’t have to feel heavy.
When I get to witness a genuine smile reflected back to me or see the sparkle back in my clients eyes, it makes my work feel incredibly special and meaningful. It’s a true privilege to be right there alongside my clients as they heal, grow and rediscover their happiness and confidence.
I offer in-person sessions from my cosy therapy space in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
However, location need not be a barrier as I also work online, and just to reassure these sessions are just as effective! Many clients love the convenience of being able to relax in their own home while still receiving the same supportive, solution-focused experience.
I like to offer a free connection call, giving you the chance to ask me any questions, and get a feel for how I work, and sense how I can best help you. I know reaching out for support can feel daunting, so don’t worry – I’m the friendly voice at the other end of the phone, to put your mind at ease and guide you gently through those first steps.
